Senkschrauben nach dieser Norm sind für eine z. Z. noch unbestimmte Dauer nur noch für Ersatzbedarf und nur noch für bereits vorhandene Konstruktionen anzuwenden. Für Neukonstruktionen sind anstelle von Schrauben nach DIN 7987 nur solche der betreffenden Gewindemaße nach DIN 965 zu verwenden.
