This Japanese Industrial Standard has been prepared based on the third edition of ISO 4014 : 1999 Hexagon head bolts—Product grades A and B published in 1999, the first edition of ISO 4015 : 1979 Hexagon head bolts—Product grade B—Reduced shank (shank diameter approximately equal to pitch diameter) published in 1979, the third edition of ISO 4016 : 1999 Hexagon head bolts—Product grade C, ISO 4017 : 1999 Hexagon head screws—Product grades A and B, ISO 4018 : 1999 Hexagon head screws —Product grade C published in 1999, the second editions of ISO 8676 : 1999 Hexagon head screws with metric fine pitch thread —Product grades A and B, and ISO 8765 : 1999 Hexagon head bolts with metric fine pitch thread—Product grades A and B published in 1999, by integrally editing corresponding parts thereof (shapes and dimensions, product specification and designations) without modification in technical contents.

The hexagon head bolts not in accordance with ISO 4014 to ISO 4018, ISO 8676 and ISO 8765 are specified in annex 1 with clarified term of withdrawal.
