This Japanese Industrial Standard has been prepared based on ISO 4161 Hexagon nuts with flange — Product grade A, issued as the first edition in 1983. The text of this Standard incorporates the technical contents of the corresponding International Standard without any changes. However, the Annex to this Standard specifies the hexagon nuts with flange, which are different in shapes and dimensions from those covered in ISO 4161 and have been specified in JIS so far.
