This standard applies to standardized fasteners (mainly bolts, screws, nuts and similar threaded and formed parts) as finished components in the condition on delivery, in so far as no special specifications have been made in the product standards (dimensional standards). This standard specifies the general requirements relating to fasteners, and it covers all the DIN Standards which apply within the framework of these technical delivery conditions.
This standard should also be used in connection with non-standardized fasteners, and reference should be made to DIN 267 Part 1 in purchase order documents, with an indication of the product class (type) concerned. If the product class is not specified, product class A shall be assumed as the class applicable.
